My Christmas Card to all that know me: The goat and the ducks.

My Christmas Card to all that know me: The goat and the ducks.

I wanted to wish you all the best possible Christmas, to those that are missing family or friends I can only send you strength and love. My eagerness on taking the usual family Christmas photo to send to our family abroad and friends fell by the wayside this year. I couldn’t do it without mum being here, she loved the Christmas photo, the silly faces pulled, the giggling and the fun we had striking poses. Instead I went shopping through World Vision, as mum was a big supporter of helping others less fortunate. Wanting to carry on where she left,  helps me through the physical and emotional loss. So no Christmas cards but a Thank you from me to you for helping me through.

  • School pencils – Giving children the tools to learn
  • Chickens and eggs -Helping provide children and families with a good source of protein and income.
  • A fish farm- A pond stocked with fish can help provide families with a good source of protein and extra income to help pay for children’s school fees.
  •  Two ducks-  protein-rich eggs to eat all year round, plus ducklings to sell for income.
  • A goat- Goats nourish hungry children and families with healthy milk, cheese and yoghurt. A dairy goat can give up to 16 cups of milk a day.

Growing up

This year has been full on, in many ways, Easy Peasy Kids has grown beyond anything I ever expected, my passion of helping children is now a full time mission, which I simply adore. With more time spent away from my office, my admin is piled up so high it scares me. The unfinished projects like the website, book and Kind Eyes project all need my attention. So over these school holidays I will be around and taking time off to focus my energy on completing what I’ve started.

Am feeling very grown up now as the year has shaped me to handle my grief and to deal with many situations I never thought in my life I would have to handle. When your work is emotional and you give, sometimes you have to stop to refocus, recharge in order to continue giving.

Have made the most beautiful friends through blogging, on Twitter and on Facebook and the support this year was overwhelming in a fantastic way. Apologies if I haven’t got round to thank you for personal messages, I do read every single one and appreciate them so very much.

I am growing up and  learning to stepping back and look at the bigger picture as I do daily with the children I work with, I apply it as much as I can in real life. Promises get broken, you cannot possibly please everyone and some people will ignore you and perhaps dislike you. I get that now more than ever and that’s good I needed toughening up, it may hurt but it passes I move on.

There’s so much I wanted to say but I figure right now less is best and I’m running on empty so best not ramble.

Have a the best possible Christmas you can and when you come across a spontaneous happy pocket make it last that little bit longer, they will fill your memory bank forever.

Easy Peasy Kids will be back towards the end of January with a refreshed me, some exciting new changes and of course aiming to create “Less tantrums. More smiles” all around the world 🙂 I’ll keep thinking outside the box , I will not not lower my expectations  and I will fight for the right of  children as every child deserves the chance.

Off to spend time with my kids now, turning up the music, taking off the bra, putting on the Pj’s and breathing in slowly

Lots of love

  6. Such a busy year and yet you have stayed so positive. You are a beautiful inspiration and I was thrilled to meet you at the baby show earlier in the year. I hope Christmas won’t be too sad without your mum – I know your beautiful family will keep you strong. The Christmas photo is lovely – gorgeous people both inside and out. Enjoy the season and recharge the batteries. I look forward to more wonderful words of wisdom in 2013.

  7. Dear Nathalie, how lovely of you to think of everyone else. Christmas will be hard for you. I know it has been a tough year for you. I don’t believe new years are “magic pills” for change, but do believe they give you a reason to re-focus. I know I will be. Thanks for always listening and being so wonderful to all the children. See you in 2013. Sooz.

  8. Merry Christmas Nathalie.

  9. Merry Christmas to you! Congratulations on all that you have accomplished in 2012- 2013 is bound to be even better! PS I totally get the taking the bra off thing! 🙂

  10. We went world vision shopping too. I feel so much better fro finally teaching Miss Possum that life isn’t peachy for all children. Miss Possum lives in a very generous world, it’s good for her to understand that not all children are as lucky as her!

Merry Christmas Nathalie. I hope you and your family have a wonderful one. xx
